3 U荔枝视频 faculty named Canada Research Chairs
The Canada Research Chairs Program (CRCP) three 荔枝视频 faculty members to its ranks today, in recognition of their achievements and pursuit of research excellence. U荔枝视频 is now home to 69 active Canada Research Chairs (CRCs). Two additional scholars have also had their CRCs renewed.
鈥淭he Canada Research Chairs Program helps us to build a community of innovative and accomplished scholars,鈥 says Dr. William Ghali, vice-president (research). 鈥淭hey are responding to society鈥檚 most pressing challenges, while also mentoring the next generation of researchers. Their contributions are of tremendous value, and we look forward to all that they will achieve.鈥 Today's announcement is part of a , investing over $635 million in Canadian research.
The CRCP is the centre of a national strategy to make Canada one of the world's top countries in research and development. It invests approximately $295 million per year to reinforce academic research and training excellence in Canadian post-secondary institutions.

- Dr. Seonghwan (Sam) Kim, PhD - NSERC Tier 2 CRC in Nano Sensing Systems (Schulich School of Engineering)
- Dr. Sheri Madigan, PhD - SSHRC Tier 2 CRC in Determinants of Child Development (Faculty of Arts)
