Black History Month was an opportunity to celebrate Canada’s rich history — a chance to learn about important Black Canadians and celebrate their contributions. Throughout February, the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ celebrated Black History Month with a series of stories and virtual events.

As Black History Month comes to an end, it's important to remember that it is our responsibility as members of the UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ community to continue the conversation around Black history.

Dr. Malinda Smith, PhD, is UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ's vice-provost (equity, diversity and inclusion), She provides us with some insights on how we can keep the conversation going and continue to support Black communities. We can all do our part to support UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ students, faculty, and community members.
