McCready Emerging Fellow Uchechukwu Umezurike Publishes Two New Books

ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ Institute for the Humanities McCready Emerging Fellow and Assistant Professor in the Department of English Dr. Uchechukwu Umezurike is celebrating the release of two new books this spring. explores how Nigerian authors challenge gender and sexuality norms in their writing. Simon Fraser University's Department of English held in March featuring Dr. Umezurike speaking about the themes of the book and the broader connections to his work on diaspora, migration, belonging, and identity. 

In addition to Masculinities in Nigerian Fiction, Dr. Umezurike is also celebrating the launch of his new book of poetry which uses the form to explore the aftermath of war, in terms of trauma, but also in relation to kindness and resiliency. The book was recently featured in.
