Congratulations to UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ History's Katie (Shuyao) Qin, winner of the Dr. Stephen J. Randall Prize in History, awarded to the best Honours Thesis. Katie's thesis, entitled "Remaking ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ’s Chinatown: Ethnic Leadership and the United ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ Chinese Association, 1979 – 1989," examines the UCCA's role in advocating for the Chinese diaspora in ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ. Katie presented her research at the annual meeting of the Canadian Historical Association held at George Brown University. She has been awarded a SSHRC to pursue an MA at Carleton University with a specialization in public history.
