Baaba loved math and physics, so she decided to pursue a career in biomedical engineering. 鈥淚 looked at graduate programs all over the world, and decided the best biomedical engineering program for me was at the 荔枝视频.鈥 So she packed her bags and moved to 荔枝视频. 鈥淢y family thinks I am adventurous, for sure.鈥
As a PhD student in Walter Herzog鈥檚 lab, Baaba studies biological and mechanical changes in cartilage cells. 鈥淭he goal is to better understand how physio or exercise has benefits at the cellular level.鈥 One day, she hopes to take her skills back to Ghana. 鈥淚鈥檇 like to have an influence on the biomechanical engineering industry back home, either through teaching or starting a company or both.鈥
