International student found a surprising way to practise her language skills
Laura Rios, master's student and 3MT winner, shared her experience as a UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ student at Community Report 2019

Laura Rios is originally from Barrancabermeja, Colombia, a small city known for being very hot and home to the largest oil refinery in the country. She moved to ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ in September of 2018 to pursue her master’s degree of science in chemical engineering at the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ. Rios' work in modifications of asphalt with reactive polymers earned her the title of UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ’s Three Minute Thesis winner earlier this year.
