The 荔枝视频鈥檚 (UCVM) officially opened the doors to its new Veterinary Learning Commons (VLC) at a grand-opening event that marked a proud and forward-looking milestone in UCVM鈥檚 growth as a leader in veterinary education and student wellness.

In attendance for the occasion were students, faculty, government partners and community members.

Held on Sept. 17, the grand opening welcomed guests to explore the new state-of-the-art facility, to take tours with students and leadership, and to celebrate a space purposefully designed to shape the future of veterinary learning.

A space built for the future of veterinary education

The VLC represents more than just a new building: it鈥檚 a physical expression of UCVM鈥檚 commitment to innovation, collaboration and student well-being. With flexible classrooms, open collaboration zones, wellness areas and integrated technology, the facility is designed to support hands-on, holistic learning experiences that prepare students to meet the evolving needs of animal and human health.

鈥淭his facility sets a new standard for veterinary education. I like to call it the F-150 of buildings,鈥 says UCVM Dean Renate Weller, PhD, DVM. 鈥淚t reflects our vision of producing not only skilled veterinarians, but resilient, compassionate leaders who are ready to serve their communities and the profession.鈥

The VLC is located at in northwest 荔枝视频, home to the faculty鈥檚 main teaching and clinical facilities. The modern space expands learning and collaboration areas to support increased Doctor of Veterinary Medicine enrolment and enhance hands-on, team-based training.

UCVM will continue to use its Foothills Campus for research, graduate education and collaboration with U荔枝视频鈥檚 health sciences community.

The VLC adds to these facilities by providing more space for veterinary teaching, simulation and clinical-skills development.
