Prizes awarded to young scientists at youth event on campus
The ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ played host to another great ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ Youth Science Fair April 15-19. Held at the Olympic Oval for the third consecutive year, the annual citywide event celebrated the work of nearly 1,000 students in grades five to 12. A strong team of 12 finalists from ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ will be heading to the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Windsor this May. Sujay Nagaraj has been selected to represent ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ at the Intel International Science Fair in May in Los Angeles.
Chancellor Jim Dinning congratulated all participants on their projects and encouraged them to apply to the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ when preparing for post-secondary education. This year's best overall project winner was Ankita Saxena, grade 12, for her project, Protein Aggregation States in TBI & AD. Saxena received the top prize of a Chancellor's Club Bursary totaling $2,500.

The winners of Schulich School of Engineering-sponsored awards (by category) are:
Intermediate level (grades 9-10)
- Parker Link, Grade 9, first prize for intermediate or senior level project involving solving a problem or creating a product for project entitled Non-Binary Information Storage
Senior level (grades 11-12)
- Bennett Leong, Grade 12, second prize for intermediate or senior level project involving solving a problem or creating a product for project entitled De-icing Light Aircraft
