Reclaiming Memory: Stoney Place Names
The 17th Annual Chiniki Lectures will take place in ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ and High River, April 4-5, 2025
In partnership with the Stoney Nakoda Nations, the History Graduate Student's Union is hosting the Annual Chiniki Lecture Series on April 4 & 5, 2025. The lecture focuses on The Buffalo Head by R.M. Patterson, detailing the travels of George Pocaterra and his Stoney guide, Paul Amos, in the early 20th century. The importance of Stoney place names and ancestral relationships in South Kananaskis, Highwood River, and Highwood Pass will be discussed.
