ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ

UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ60 is a celebration of our success. It’s a way to honour the generations of people who have made this university great, and who are driving innovation, creativity and excellence nationwide. As our brand says, we are the place people come when they want to Start Something. 

And on Friday, Aug. 29, we did.

Thanks to help from many of you, we kicked off our year-long UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ60 celebration with a magical moment. Nearly 1,000 students marched behind the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ Stampede Showband from the heart of campus, into the streets, to KICKOFF celebrations at McMahon Stadium. Roughly 5,400 gathered to cheer on the against the Regina Rams and launch a new academic year.

The march wouldn’t have been possible without the help of strategic partners across campus, as well as with the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ Police Service and ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ Stampede. 

For our first-year students, we created a core memory of the excitement and commitment we have for their student experience. For our campus community, the event was a joyous reminder of why we work here. 

This is only the beginning. In April 2026, UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ officially turns 60. 

UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ60 will be a success because of all of you. Of the people who come together with a shared vision, a can-do attitude, and a truly entrepreneurial spirit. 

UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ60 is not just about looking back — it’s about charting our trajectory forward. The 60th anniversary is a unique opportunity to strengthen bonds with alumni, donors, students, governments, and the wider ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ community. 

UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ60 is about celebrating the people who have made UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ amazing. And that includes each and every one of you! Thank you for your ideas and excitement.
