UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ Nursing alumna Meg Omand, BN'17, in Haida Gwaii.

UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ Nursing alumna Meg Omand continues her interest in international health with her recent sojourn to Kampala Uganda to help out with the Uganda EMS Pilot Project. Phase 1 of this project took place in February and involved teaching 40 non-physician health-care workers the basics of assessment and treatment at the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) level.

While completing her BN program at UÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ, Omand took advantage of the student exchange program to the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ-Qatar in 2016.  Since graduating, she has been working in Haida Gwaii, British Columbia at their hospital where her work covers the lifespan in ER, acute medicine and long-term care. She was also recently hired as an EMR with BC Ambulance.
