What’s the difference between a scholarship and a bursary?
A scholarship is based on academic achievement, but sometimes also on involvement in other areas, such as leadership and community service. A bursary has academic requirements, but it also requires students to have a demonstrated financial need.
At the ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ, students are eligible for scholarships if they have at least a 3.2 GPA, and for bursaries if they have at least a 2.0 GPA. Visit this site for more details.

UÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ students receive thousands of scholarships and bursaries every year. If you’re from Alberta and have at least a 3.5 GPA, make sure to apply for the Jason Lang Scholarship. Also, be sure to apply for the university’s Continuing Student Awards. The application for these opens on March 1 and has a deadline of May 1.
